Dr Fatim Lakha is an Assistant Professor (clinical) at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at University of Edinburgh and an Honorary Consultant in Public Health Medicine at NHS Lothian (Scotland). Fatim trained in medicine at Glasgow University and completed her masters, her doctorate and her specialty training in Public Health and in General Practice in Edinburgh.

She is an epidemiologist with clinical and academic experience in primary and secondary health care, drug development, biostatistics, epidemiology and health economics.

Her research interests include capacity building in LMICs, health systems strengthening, women’s health, primary care and health economics. She is currently based in Bangkok, Thailand and is a member of the multidisciplinary Communicable Diseases Policy Research Group team which is part of the Department of Global Health and Development in the Faculty of Public Health and Policy at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. As part of this Global Challenges Research Fund her interest is in identifying needs and demands, contextual mapping and informing research to impact.
