Professor Sherzod Abdullaev

Project role: Support the PI in project development and implementation, with a particular oversight over UWED and its national priorities; have administrative and financial responsibility for the project delivery at UWED.

Sherzod Abdullaev, D.Sc., Ph.D., is a senior research professor and Head of the Center for Advanced International Studies at UWED. He is a career diplomat and worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 25 years. He was an Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs (2000-2010). He worked as the Head of Coordination-Analytical Center for Foreign Policy Studies (2010-2012) and the Vice-rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (2012-2015). Previously he also served as the Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of Uzbekistan to the United States of America.

Professor Abdullaev is the author of numerous books and articles, policy papers on ethno-social and ethno-political processes in Central Asia, problems of regional and international security.
