A recent addition to the News Panel panel is the inclusion of a category filter dropdown.
Whether loading local posts or pulling in news articles from blogs.kent / kent.ac.uk it is now possible to display a dropdown allowing you to filter the results by category. When toggled to ‘Yes‘ the dropdown will be displayed and populated by categories extracted from the posts retrieved. When you click on the dropdown and change the category it will filter the posts down to just that category. You can choose to display the dropdown with or without a panel title.
It is also possible to preset a category for the posts to be filtered for. All you need to do is type in the name of the desired category.
Users can always return to full list of posts at anytime by choosing ‘All news’, the first item in the dropdown.
