The School of English offers a variety of taught and research Postcolonial programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate students. At undergraduate level we offer a popular course in English, American and Postcolonial Literatures, which allows students to combine the broader study of literature whilst pursuing more specialised Postcolonial modules. A final-year undergraduate study-visit to Istanbul, including lectures by internationally-respected scholars in the field of Ottoman and post-Ottoman literary history and American writers in Istanbul, took place in December 2012. At postgraduate level, we offer a taught MA (with an optional term in Paris) as well as several research programmes at PhD level.
