{"id":2379,"date":"2022-02-15T15:19:18","date_gmt":"2022-02-15T15:19:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/research.kent.ac.uk\/cbcd\/?p=2379"},"modified":"2022-05-03T14:23:18","modified_gmt":"2022-05-03T13:23:18","slug":"just-coca-health-science-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/research.kent.ac.uk\/cbcd\/2022\/02\/15\/just-coca-health-science-people\/","title":{"rendered":"Just Coca 2022 &#8211; Health Science People"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The third webinar in the CBCD&#8217;s series <em>People and Psychoactive Plants<\/em>, <strong>Just Coca 2022 &#8211; Health|Science|People<\/strong> will take place online May 18-19th, 2022, with the aim of providing expert academic and policy input to a WHO review of Coca and related discussions at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/about\/governance\/world-health-assembly\">World Health Assembly<\/a> in Geneva, May 22-28.<\/p>\n<p>The two day conference features an international, multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary group of scientific experts, users, entrepreneurs, drug reform advocates and policy makers providing testemonials, key note lectures, panel and round table discussions, and plenty of Q&amp;A opportunities for interaction with audiences.<\/p>\n<p>While still in development, here is the tentative programme.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wed. May 18th :\u00a0 1-6 pm UK|2- 7 pm Geneva|7 am -12 pm Lima<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Coca leaf in medicine: <em>lege artis<\/em> on safety &amp; therapeutics for physical &amp; mental health<\/p>\n<p>2. Coca leaf and industrial products: <i class=\"\">lege artis<\/i> aspects of nutrition, wellbeing, safety, innovation and process engineering<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thurs. May 19th : 1-6 pm UK|2- 7 pm Geneva|7 am -12 pm Lima<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3. Sustainable coca cultivation &amp; production in fragile environments: an engine for development, not a threat<\/p>\n<p>4.
