Dr Alison Foster

Associate Lecturer in Ethnobotany

Dr. Alison Foster teaches Botanical Foundations of Ethnobotany to MSc Ethnobotany students at Kent. She began her career as a chemist in the pharmaceutical industry, in a medicinal chemistry department. Inspired by her own gardening and a love of gardens, she moved into horticulture by studying for the RHS general certificate, and trained at the  Birmingham Botanical Gardens and Glasshouses. She then went on to become the Senior Curator at the University of Oxford Botanic Garden.
