2015-2019: PhD Student — Thesis title: Statistical Shape Analysis of Galactic HII Regions
I am currently completing my PhD research at the University of Kent. My primary focus is investigating stellar bubbles and HII regions using statistical shape analysis. HII regions are diffuse nebulae of hot, ionised hydrogen around massive stars. They highlight areas of massive star formation and show how different phases of the interstellar medium interact.
I also work as an astronomer at the University's Beacon Observatory where I am part of the HOYS-CAPS project. I recently visited ESO La Silla, Chile for a second time, to observe with the Danish National 1.54m Telescope as part of the MINDSTEp consortium. I kept a record of my second trip in a short blog that can be found at this link.
