In 2023, Miguel completed his MPhys (Hons) in Astronomy, Space Science, and Astrophysics at the University of Kent. His final year project titled “An Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Hypervelocity Impacts into Surfaces Covered by Water and Ice” focused on the effects that layering have on hypervelocity impacts on Earth.
During Miguel's MPhys at the University of Kent, Miguel found interest in the area of Impacts. Throughout his PhD he will investigate the changes in crater morphology that multiple layering has when impacted into various bodies of the Solar System. In addition, he will investigate for any chemical interactions that occur due to the impacts.
