Talk by Thomas O’Sullivan: An Academic Journey in Planetary Science

On the 14th of November 2023, Thomas O’Sullivan, graduate of the University of Kent will be giving a talk covering how to successfully apply for postgraduate study at the International Space University based in Strasbourg.

Abstract

A perspective from a University of Kent alumnus on academic options after undergraduate studies. I’ll talk about my journey since graduating from Kent, which has taken me across Europe to multiple different international institutions. Moving abroad for the first time can be daunting, but my time at the International Space University in Strasbourg made it well worth it, and with a rich history of UKC and ISU exchanging students it’s absolutely a pathway to consider. I’ll give a brief overview of both my role and our contemporary planetary science research at the Freie Universität Berlin, and how it links to the skills acquired at UoK.
