This year has been extremely busy period for graduations due to the pandemic with three cohorts of students eager to be awarded their degrees. Below we include some photos of one of these days provided by students.
The 2021 cohort was particularly noteworthy as 50% of the MPhys finalists are female. The following quote is from Matthew (far right) who will be starting a PhD with us in CAPS in September:
It was a lovely event and was very nice to see everyone again.
The picture above is of Thomas O’Sullivan who graduated with an BSc in 2021 and is now studying for a Masters in Space Studies at the International Space University in France. After graduating from the ISU Thomas hopes to complete a PhD on a related topic.
“The graduation day was a lovely culmination of all of our hard work over the previous years. After a difficult two years, it was great to return to Kent and finally catch up in person with friends, lecturers, and colleagues.”
Pictured above are some of our MPhys Astrophysics and ASSA finalists including Holly Stokes-Geddes (second from the left) who provided the following quote:
The graduation day was well organised and fun – the school of physical sciences even put together an event where I was able to catch up with everyone who went on my university journey with me. We got to take photos, bring our families, and speak to our lecturers about our futures.
The graduation itself was a blur. It was an honour to be able to finally celebrate having worked so hard for four years. A once in a lifetime experience!
In addition to the graduating undergraduate there were a number of PhD students graduating from our group. Congratulations to everyone and best wishes for the next steps in your careers!
