There she presented a poster about work done with student interns over the summer of 2018 investigating impacts into material that contain trapped gas and an oral presentation about the shock effect of impacts on common meteoritic minerals. Kathryn also chaired a session “Frontiers in Shock Metamorphism”.

This was the 50th meeting after the first in 1969 which discussed the science that would be gained form the Apollo 11 moon landing. It was noted that 4 attendees this year had attended every LPSC meeting since the first in 1969.
