These all began as research in our lab at UCL and have become software as a medical device products on the international market through spin-out companies and later part of medical device strategics.<\/div>\n<div aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/div>\n<div><strong>Short bio:<\/strong> Dan Stoyanov is a Professor at UCL Computer Science and Co-Director of the UCL Hawkes Institute. His research is focused on surgical AI and robotics with a particular focus on computer vision in surgical endoscopy and minimally invasive surgery. He is Royal Academy of Engineering Chair in Emerging Technologies in addition to leading large scale projects from Wellcome and EPSRC. He was Chief Scientist at Digital Surgery (acquired by Medtronic plc); co-founder of Odin Vision Ltd (acquired by Olympus); and co-founder of Panda Surgical Ltd and EnAcuity Ltd.
