Left to right: Andy Thrapp, Yong Hu, Manuel Marques.<\/p>\n<p>In the main afternoon event there were some distinguished invited talks intercalated with two brief presentations from the awardees of the <a href=\"http:\/\/image-guided-therapies.ac.uk\/funding-calls\/\">IGT-funded proof-of-concept awards<\/a>. These two presentations both involved the AOG: the first one, in collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nottingham.ac.uk\/physics\/people\/ioan.notingher\">Prof Ioan Notingher<\/a> from the University of Nottingham,<a href=\"http:\/\/image-guided-therapies.ac.uk\/spotlight-proof-concept-awardee\/\"> involves a combination of both OCT and Raman spectroscopy to target glue ear diagnosis<\/a>; and the second one, in collaboration with <a href=\"http:\/\/users.ox.ac.uk\/~engs1461\/\">Dr Jason Raymond<\/a>, Dr Carr Everbach and Dr Ronald Roy from the University of Oxford, involves employing OCT imaging to characterise (and eventually avoid)\u00a0 lesions caused by high-intensity focused ultrasound skin burns.
